This week’s poem comes from Tosj, a poet who loves writing and filling up with different words. Despite his disabilities, being a writer is a part of him that always helps him cope. Art and poetry are his biggest talents. When he writes or paints he is filled with joy!
"Ars Poetica" is a poem about a poem. It reflects his poetry and tells a story about words spilling onto the page.
Ars Poetica
Playful words scurry onto the page
Deciding if I should write about dogs or cats
It's raining outside
Words escape me like a dog escaping their yard
Abstract and beautiful faces
With big noses and small ears
As for my glorious goggles
They snap on my face, and hurt my eyes
Imagination running wild
Like a wild horse
Freedom of words
Spilling onto the page
“Let me in!”
Says the cat at the window
Mewing away
This is a funny story
About a man with a furry suit
Grayscaled pictures on the wall
Admiring the man in the mirror
Asking for change
Praying for forgiveness
Hoping for solitude
Tosj! This poem is ~~perfection~~, and I can't stop re-reading it.
This is a wonderful poem! It made me smile. The imagery you used made me visualize everything as if I was there. Thank you for sharing this poem. I will look forward to seeing some of your future poems. :).
