Poetry Society of America
More than a decade ago, the Poetry Society of America selected me as one of their biannual New American Poets, an honor that felt exciting and a little scary, replete as it was with expectations. A couple months ago, the PSA reached out to me about the amazing work of Unrestricted Interest authors and asked if they could help amplify their voices. As much as I value the recognition I received all those years back, the honor I feel at introducing Hannah Emerson, Adam Wolfond, and Meghana and Chetan Junnuru to the upper echelons of contemporary poetry far eclipses it.
In the coming weeks, Unrestricted author Meghana Junnuru will be teaming up with Upstream Arts (one of my favorite arts organizations of all time) to participate in a weekend intensive storytelling workshop with The Moth. On March 14th, I will be presenting alongside Unrestricted author Dustin Duby-Koffman at the sold-out Innovations in Education conference in Atlanta. Unrestricted Editions chapbooks are being taught at and collected by institutions around the country. The Listening World is about listening, but it is also about being heard. Thanks to everybody out there who is helping to spread the good word.
Amped Up,
Chris
