When Hannah Emerson and I met this past Monday, I was thinking about the way her poems articulate what it’s like to perceive and cultivate inner resources. I was thinking about something I heard on a podcast, explaining how the Druids talk about a sacred grove we carry inside us, so that nature isn’t something apart from us, but fundamentally a part of us. Hannah took my observation as an invitation, which it was, and once again unfolded the great great great depths of her inner nature in poem form:
When we let ourselves appear as us, steeped in that primal union, we stride and roll and carry each other toward the interdependence we crave. My week doesn’t feel right unless I have Hannah’s words to carry me. I don’t know how the rest of you get through it! But there is good news. I am beyond thrilled to announce that Hannah will be starting her own newsletter and you can sign up for it here.

Spread the good word. And may we all grow into the freedom that loves us.
