Things to Do in Hell
I promise you that sharing my own work in this newsletter is something I will only do once a year, if that. The truth is I have a new book in the world, which is not something that happens very often, and I want to honor it. So I will momentarily embrace my Leo birthright and roaringly introduce you to:
Here is what some dear poet friends have to say about it:
On Tuesday, October 20th from 7-8pm CST, we will be launching the book with a series of conversations where illustrious thinkers debate whether it’s more likely we’re living in heaven or hell. (You yourself can vote on the topic here.) Here is a breakdown of the debaters:
Marlon James and Sam Gould
Courtney Martin and Mia Birdsong
Michael Kleber-Diggs and Sun Yung Shin
CAConrad and Adjua Gargi Nzinga Greaves
You can find the link to attend on the Moon Palace Books event page. It will be a night of revelations and I hope you will join us. In the meantime, keep working to make hell more tender and heaven less shitty. And hold everyone you love a little closer or, as the title poem says, “Love even the barest light pissing through the trees.”
